vera leggenda del R&B\Soul-Funk, i fratelli Isley sono attivi discograficamente fin dal 1959, possono vantare la presenza di un giovane Jimi Hendrix nel 1963 e, dopo aver fondato la label: T-Neck, nel 1969 pubblicano la pietra miliare: It's your thing.
Sempre nel 69 escono anche: The Brothers: Isley e: Get into something, consiglio: The Blacker The Berrie e: Was It Good To You? dal primo e il brano che titola l'album dal secondo, oltre a Freedom.
Dalla discografia dei 70's vi segnalo: Work to do, Popthat thang e Keep on walking tratti da: Brother, brother, brother del 1972.
Nel 1973 si aggiungono altri due fratelli e il gruppo arriva a 6 elementi come testimonia l'album. 3+3, da cui consiglio: That lady e Listen to the music, dello stesso anno anche il disco dal vivo: The Isleys Live.
1974, esce: Live it up, con la splendida cover di Hello it's me di Todd rundgreen e: Live It Up (Part 1 & 2).
