jazz\fusion band con vocazione soul da parte dei suoi elementi: David Shields, bassista con: Bill Cosby, Balckbyrds, Labelle, Marlena Shaw ecc.ecc., James Gadson, batterista, già con: Charles Wright & The Watts 103rd St Rhythm Band e Dyke & The Blazers, il tastierista soul\funk Stu Gardner, insomma di scuola prettamente jazzistica rimangono il saxophonista: Doug Richardson e il trombettista: Gary Grant (Peter Herbolzheimer Rhythm Combination & Brass, The Gene Page Orchestra), progetto della durata di un solo album, ma di grande qualità.
For The Cos Of Jazz esce nel 1977 per la: Capitol Records, disco da cui si fatica a estrarre brani essendo tutti da ascoltare, dovendo restringere la scelta, citerei: Psalm, Flat Meat, Funky Johnson, Beans & sauce e: Fit-It To The Rhythm.
