 afro funk band nigeriana, in gran parte composta da membri dei Mighty Flames, che incidono anche a nome First planet. Con il nome Masisi Asamba, pubblicano: Ojemba wildness, su JBC , 1977, ma è come Masisi Mass Funl che spaccano veramente, con: I want you girl, LP raro e ricercato  inciso per la Scodisk Sound, 1979, che contiene: He Is To Be Praised e: Funky music. Nel 1980 si concedono un passaggio Disco oriented come: First Planet e l'album omonimo su Zanidisco, da cui segnalo: I want to thanl you baby.

 Afro\soul, funk singer nigeriano, molto interessante la sua discografia di fine anni 70 con Frank Fyne Rock Express Group, soprattutto con l'album: Frank Fyne's express, da cui consiglio: Be aware e: What willbe will be. Non meno interessanti le sue partecipazioni, tra cui quella con i Masisi Mass Funk ( già trattati alla lettera M ).

 soul\jazz e Disco band che ruota attorno alle figure di Chriss Hills, batterista e arrangiatore e di Danny Weiss , produttore,per la Vanguard records. La band è  supportata da esperti musicisti di studio come: Joe Farrell, David Sanborn, James Mtume, Bob Berg, Mike Mandel, Steve Earle Johnson e tanti altri. Con un misto di cover famose, Disco Inferno su tutte, ma anche con brani originali, diventano una cult band nell'ambito della scena Disco Newyorkese. Plastic Surprise

 uno dei Disco project dell'italo\canadese Peter Di Milo (Erotic Drum Band, Extensive Care, Pussycats alcuni dei più noti), figura chiave della dance hall canadese, in questo caso edita Bang bang, album del 1980 su Unidisc, con quattro tracce, da cui segnalo: Bang, Bang (You Got The Money) e Disco express ( quest'ultima anche su 12"). Prima di chiudere il discorso esce anche: Have a ride with love, 12" per la J.C. records, Canada 1981, in questo caso la produzione è affidata a Jerry Cucuzzella.

Placebo \ Marc Moulin

 jazz\rock band belga attiva soprattutto nella prima metà dei 70's, guidati dal compositore\pianista Marc Moulin, incidono il primo album: Ball of eyes, nel 1971 per la CBS, tra i brani consigliati una gran cover jazzy di Inner city blues, Planes, You Got Me Hummin', Aria. Il secondo album: Placebo 1973, sempre su CBS, è un'altra perla jazz\rock, con: Bolkwush, Temse, Balek, Polk. Era lecito pensare che fosse difficile ripetersi dopo due album di questo livello, invece, nel 174, su Harvest , esce: Placebo, canto del cigno e capolavoro assoluto, da cui consiglio: Bosso, Dag Madam Merci, Hop hop, S.U.S. Dismessa la band, Marc Moulin incide nel 1975 un album solo: Sam'Suffy, su CBS belga, ancora un ottimo lavoro con una strepitosa cover di Misterioso ( Monk), Le saule e: Tohubohu part.1.

 Aurino Quirino Gonçalves, cantante e compositore brasiliano, noto per aver modernizzato il folkloristico Carimbò e per avere inciso la prima versione di una lambada, anni prima che questo genere arrivasse al successo. Il materiale rimane comunque molto folk, però vi voglio proporre un pezzo: Pai Xangô, ipnotico e percussivo, tratto dall'album Carimbò e Sirimbò no embalo do Pinduca, edito su: AMC \ Beverly 1974.

Dave Pike ( the Dave Pike Set )

 vibrafonista statunitense che viene dal jazz, incide dal 1961 per etichette nobili come: Riverside, New Jazz, Moodsville e Atlantic, con quest'ultima iniziamo a commentare il suo operato, cioè da: Jazz for the jazz set, 1966, quindi piccolo eccezione temporale, giusto per consigliarvi: Jet set, When I'm gone, Sweet tater pie. Tra il 1968 e il 1973, Dave si traferisce in Olanda, per poi lavorare anche in Germania e Belgio, accompagnato da artisti locali come Volker Kriegel ( chitarra e sitar ), Hans Rettenbacher ( Bass, Cello), Peter Baumeister ( Drums, Percussion ), formando il Dave Pike Set, con incisioni parallele temporalmente, alla carriera solista, terrò quindi separate le play list, iniziando con i "solo" album, consiglio: The Drifter, da The Doors of perceptions, album per la Vortex del 1970, prodotto da Herbie Mann. Dal disco con Kenny Burrell: Time out of mind, Muse 1976, consiglio: Dance Of The Grebes, mentre, da: On a gentle note, Muse 1978: Secret Mystery Of Hensch. Chiudo il periodo Muse con l'album del 1980: Let the minstrels play on, che contiene: Spirit's samba e Swan lake. Per quanto riguarda il Dave Pike Set, iniziamo dal 1969, con: You got it made, El-Die-Bie!, After A Moment's Reflection e Bacon Fat, il tutto per la label olandese Relax. A seguire sono tutti album per la Mps, cominciando da: Noisy Silence — Gentle Noise, 1969, che contiene la spettacolare Mathar e anche: Walkin' Down The Highway In A Red Raw Egg. Sempre nel 69 esce anche: Four reasons, con: Goodtime Charlie At The Big Washdown. Infra-red del 1970, contiene: But antway, Raga Jeeva Swara e Soul eggs. Pig Bag

 post punk\funk punk band, che grazie all'interessamento del polistrumentista Simon Underwood del Pop Group ( che parteciperà alle incisioni), vengono in contatto con Dick O'Dell, proprietario della Y records, che dopo averli visti dal vivo gli fa incidere il primo singolo: Papa's Got A Brand New Pigbag, anno 1981, una stralunata cover di James Brown che porta immediata notorietà e l'uscita del secondo 12": Sunny day. Entrambi i brani escono sia come 7" che come 12", consiglio sempre la long version e, comunque, non si trovano sul primo album della band: Dr Heckle And Mr Jive, sempre su Y records ma del 1982.
