Mtume

 P-Funk band, guidata ovviamente dal percussionista James Mtume ( già con The Heath Brothers, The Players Association e guest in decine di album di altri artisti) e dal chitarrista: Reggie Lucas ( MFSB , Sunfire), entrambi produttori e arrangiatori, coadiuvati da Wade Marcus, pubblicano due album a dir poco seminali, per quanto riguarda la black music degli 80's e l'Hip Hop, cioè: Kiss This World Goodbye, 1978, con: Just Funnin', Love lock, Funky constellation e la title track, quindi, nel 1980: In Search Of The Rainbow Seekers, da cui consiglio praticamente tutto l'album, ma dovendo sciegliere direi: She's a rainbow dancer, Anticipatin', So you wanna be a star, Dance Around My Navel (Doesn't Have To Make Sense, Just Cents) e: Give It On Up (If You Want To), entrambi gli LP sono per la Epic e vedono come ospite alle tastiere: Hubert Eaves. Pur essendo fuori dal range temporale di questa pagina, essendo del 1983, non posso non citare il loro disco del grande successo commerciale, ovvero: Juicy Fruit.
