vocalist, chitarrista e compositore dalla Georgia, attivo dalla prima metà dei 60's, tra R&B, Blues e deep soul, ma la vera bomba arriva nel 1973, con l'album: Roy Lee Johnson & The Villagers, su Stax, funk all'ennesima potenza che contiene killer tracks come: Patch It Up, Razorback Circus, The Dryer (Part 1&2), Robot ( firmata Mark Rice), senza far torto a ottimi brani come: Don't Tell Me Nothing About My Woman e: Midnight At Riley's.
