Blue-Eyed Soul & Rock singer, chitarrista, compositore e arrangiatore inglese. Nella seconda metà dei 60's milita nella The Alan Bown set, band di rock psichedelico, che lo introduce all'esperienza , nei 70's, con la Butts band, assieme a due ex Doors: John Desmore e Robby Krieger. Di questa band, dedita ad un solido rock\blues, segnalo il primo album , omonimo, per la Blue Thumb, 1973, che contiene: Baja bus. Nel 1974 esce il suo primo album solista: Jess Roden, edito dalla Island di Chris Blackwell, che tra l'altro, co-produce il disco, assieme al leggendario Allen Toussaint. Brani consigliati: In me tonight, I'm on your side, ma soprattutto, una gran cover di On Broadway.
