vocalist proveniente dal Gospel, genere che non abbandona mai pur inserendo venature soul\funk nel suo repertorio, iniziando dai primi singoli per la Elektra: All God children's got soul, del 1969 e: Rain, 1970, stessa falsariga per il debutto su LP con la Buddah records: Brand new day, che contiene Top of the mountain e una cover di Spirit in the sky di Greenbaum, dopo ciò succede ben poco, se non un altro paio di singoli: Ain't that peculiar, MGM 1972 e: I can't go without you, Brown door records 1975.
